What’s the job?

We’re looking for an enthusiastic student to join us for a 15 week summer internship to work on transferring our web pages across to a new platform - reviewing and rewriting as you go. It’s an exciting opportunity to look at how we can increase awareness and engagement in what the Student Union does. The role will also be active in implementing our Freshers Week marketing campaign over the summer, including writing copy and monitoring social media.

The job is part-time – 20 hours per week (4 hours per day preferred although some flexibility may be possible). The internship will start 28^th May 2018 and end 7^th September 2018.

Who are we?

We are Heriot-Watt University Student Union. We’re based in Edinburgh and our main goal is to make sure that Heriot-Watt students have THE BEST TIME whilst studying here. We have our commercial outlets as well as Advice Hub, academic representation, societies and community, plus we work with Students to make their time at Heriot-Watt the best it can be.

Marketing and Communications are key priorities for us at the moment, and year on year we are seeing growth in our engagement scores. We are keen to continue our past work – whilst hopefully bringing in new ideas.

What do you get?

The role pays £7.38 per hour plus holiday pay. You will be fully supported by the existing marketing and communications team and you’ll be involved in helping to shape our strategy going forward.

You will also gain invaluable experience of seeing the marketing proposal for Freshers Week through from concept to implementation.
