HW 5k Colour Run

Posted 124 Months Ago

It’s New Year, are you looking for a new challenge? How about getting involved in our first Heriot-Watt Black Dog Campaign event?

We will be hosting a 5K ‘Colour-Run’ at 10am on 15 February 2015 at the Edinburgh Campus. The aim of the event is to have as many people come along and take part as possible. There is an £8 entry fee which you can pay when you book onto the event at the Centre for Sport and Exercise. All proceeds for the event will be going straight to our SANE Black Dog Campaign.

'Colour bombing'

However, there is a twist! It’s not just a run, we have arranged for ‘Colour Bomb Stations’ around the course… people at the stations throwing a paint-like substance* at the participants, what better way to get rid of those winter blues than to join in the fun?

Family fun

We’re opening the event up to all so why not bring friends and family to spectate or to take part? Kids 12 and over can run themselves and those 11 and under need to be accompanied by an adult.

Get in shape

To help you get started we’ve put together a ‘training programme’ so you can get prepared for the 5K run. It’s a great way to get in shape after the Christmas/New Year break.

We’re also attaching an outline of the course so you can get yourself familiar with the route.

Book now

We’re excited to be holding this fun event and all for a good cause. To register and book onto the event pop along to the Centre for Sport and Exercise.

This event is being brought to you in collaboration with, the Centre for Sport and Exercise, the Landscape Squad, Equality and Diversity, the Student Union and the Sports Union. We’re all coming together to support a great cause and we really hope you’ll get involved too.

* This is non-toxic, non-rash-inducing, coloured corn starch and don’t worry, we’ll be issuing sunglasses for those taking part for protection and cool factor!*
